Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends Soul gospel Jazz and R&B with a distinctive mix. From Broadway to European music festivals and clubs the singer has done work across the globe. Her real name is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she started her musical career by playing the piano and singing in church. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship within the Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You a house 12 issued exclusively in Japan It has been remixed since by numerous producers and is the mainstay of her live set. The Fighting Temptations was the another soundtrack on which she sang. The band was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. In 2007, Grammy as well as Tony Awards-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the stage production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
