Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, explains the basics of cooking that anyone can master. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of the top eateries within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy, and battled in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful adventure. I couldn't be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The time she spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and has made an impression on her perception of food. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of children who are struggling. Burrell is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for young diabetics. She has been a frequent presenter at conferences, and she travels throughout the United States in her mentorship task. Anne declared that she felt fortunate in that she could communicate her love of cooking to other people.
